Back in Boston

Back in Boston, my Guru spoke, saying,
forget about karma for a moment.

Build a shelter to keep vermin out,
nail mesh over windows,
so mosquitoes won't get in.

Don't leave crusts lying around
to invite roaches,
keep out bees with their sting,
snakes with their venom,
build a shelter within.

Like John Hancock, he signed large and bold,
no need for King George to squint.

Good to be back in Boston, to be reminded
once more in no uncertain terms.

Upon the Occasion of our 13th Anniversary

How can you miss
With 13 years of bliss?
I'd climb the Alps Swiss
To give you a kiss.

Thanks for
Love, protection,
Virility, kindness,
Wisdom, understanding
And down right every day magic.

Intrepid

Dusky eve in September,
intent on his journey home,
my squirrel traverses the top limbs -
dare-devil, flying from branch to branch.

Leaves atremble, my squirrel
never falls, never contemplates
splattering to the ground.

Sixty-four

For the one I adore
At sixty-four,
All I can say is

Endgame

To be able to say,
"I had a good life,
a wonderful journey,
thank you."

Takes the sting away,
disarms death,
an understanding that
it's been good.

Not all the hoohah,
but the understanding
that life is a gift,
each and every breath of it.

Each and every crumb of it,
dispensed so elegantly,
simple, yet unfathomable
while yet alive.

Psalm 98

The sea roared,
floods literally clapped their hands,
mountains sang for joy,
that's about the gist of it -

And what if......
goodness were just
a matter of feeling good
and kindness just
a matter of feeling happy?

I'd let you cut in front,
"Be my guest,"
I'd minister to a child,
bending down, lowering
my voice a notch or two.

The sea roared,
floods clapped their hands,
mountains sang for joy, and
goodness hovered o're
the face of the water.
